Great choice - have the Family's album ever since it came out in 1985 - their original version of Nothing Compare's 2 U, The Screams of Passion, Desire, High Fashion, and my fave River Runs Dry - an amazing album that is long overdue for a deluxe CD reissue

I had this album on constant repeat for at least 10 years, every song is stellar, and their follow-up album 'Protection' was also utterly flawless.

I knew the hit single but never heard anything else, just found the full album on UA-cam and sampled the songs, they all sound amazing, of course produced by Prince why wouldn't it? I need to give it a full listen. That first song 'High Fashion' I thought I was listening to an ABC song! The beat/vibe is so reminiscent of ABC's style

I think Protection actually is a better album. (And some will say Mezzanine is a better album). Even though Blue Lines has the best few songs, Protection has a better flow. Blue Lines is still a must though

Massive Attack from Bristol 🇬🇧 It's a small World, as Andy Vowles, aka " Mushroom " lives near me. My ex wife used to clean his house. Mushroom know the Family.And watched my youngest Son Conor grew up from an early age. Conor was my youngest of three children. Conor died in 2011, following a moped accident in 2011. Andy/ Mushroom, was there for us, for the Family, and eventually helped out with carrying Conors coffin at the Funeral. Not just a great talented musician, but a lovely guy too. I haven't seen Mushroom for ages,but I'm forever greatful for his support and help. God Bless Andy/ Mushroom and Massive Attack 👍🏻😉🩵🙏
